Our nursery

A small, settled nursery. Known faces, known routines.

We've been in our current building since 2002, serving Ash, Ash Vale, Tongham, Aldershot, Normandy and Mytchett. The scale is deliberate — it's what makes it feel like a family.

Our values

High quality early education, in a caring, child-centred setting.

We aim to offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity — physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.

Principle one

Child-centred, always

Learning led by what each child is curious about — not a rigid weekly plan.

Principle two

Warm, steady people

Lead practitioners with degrees in Early Education; ELSA and THRIVE licensed staff.

Principle three

Rooted in community

Thirty years in Ash. We know the local schools, and they know us.

Principle four

Inclusive by design

SENCO-led SEND support, working closely with families and external professionals.

What we offer

Play, outdoors, and people who know your child.

We don't have a gimmick — just qualified practitioners, time spent outside, and a commitment to following the child. Click any item to read more.

Play-led learning
The EYFS, lived out loud
Our days follow the Early Years Foundation Stage — not as a worksheet, but as a framework for genuinely child-led play. Practitioners watch what each child is drawn to, and build the week around that.
+
Emotional literacy
ELSA & Talk Boost
We have trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistants on the team, and run Talk Boost for children who benefit from extra language support. Small groups, calm spaces, real one-to-one time.
+
Early wellbeing
THRIVE-informed practice
Our practitioners are THRIVE licensed — a relational approach that helps us meet each child where they are emotionally, not just where they 'should' be by age.
+
Outdoors
A garden, every day
Led by our Outdoors Lead. Mud kitchen, sand, climbing, hedges, a chicken run — weather-appropriate kit and a generous view of what 'learning' looks like.
+
SEND
Inclusive by design
Our SENCO leads on individual support, working with families and external professionals (speech & language, health visitors, local schools) to make sure every child is truly included.
+
Getting ready for school
A gentle transition
For our oldest children, we work closely with local primary schools and support the move to reception — visits, familiar routines, and plenty of time to practise being a 'big kid'.

"We've been part of Ash for over thirty years. A lot of the children we have now are the children of children we once looked after — that says more than any brochure could.
